A Spalsh of Time & Place

🎨 A Splash of Time and Place — My Solo Exhibition at Estuary Arts Centre

Dates: 3 – 29 June 2025
Venue: Estuary Arts Centre, Orewa, Auckland

They say time and place are everything. I say—let’s splash them across canvas and see what happens.I’m beyond excited (and a little bit giddy) to share that my solo exhibition A Splash of Time and Place is now showing at Estuary Arts Centre. This body of work is what happens when a curious, colour-loving mind gets obsessed with moments, memories, and the small, beautiful details that often get overlooked.

So… what’s it all about?

This collection is a patchwork of obsessions—fleeting thoughts, nostalgic corners, objects that wouldn’t stop whispering, and places that dug their heels into my imagination and refused to leave. There’s no one theme or style—because neither time nor place likes to follow rules. Instead, each painting is a little window into a moment:

  • A telephone waiting quietly for a call that never came

  • A pepper shaker mid-drama in a chaotic kitchen

  • A dreamy green lakehouse built from half-memory, half-whimsy

  • Lupins swaying by Lake Tekapo, like they’re keeping secrets

Some works are deeply personal. Others are wildly playful. All are painted with heart (and probably a few rogue cat hairs).

Featured Works

🖼️ Incase You Called – A still moment, soaked in quiet hope and sunlight.
🌶️ Pepper – Chaos, colour, and seasoning with attitude.
🧂 Salt – The quiet backbone of every meal, and sometimes, of memory too.
📺 Good Ol’ Tele – A love letter to family rooms and slower times.
🌳 Lakehouse – A winding path, a suspiciously calm lake, and a hydrangea for emotional support.
🌸 Lupins – Inspired by a soft breeze and a sky full of quiet over Lake Tekapo. And more. Each piece is 50 x 50 cm, painted in acrylic on canvas, framed in either Shakey Square frames (thank you Wallace Studio!) or by Fantastic Framing. They’re ready to hang—and maybe ready to go home with you.

Why “A Splash of Time and Place”?

Because that’s how these works arrived—in splashes. Unexpected flashes of inspiration. Glimpses of memory. Places I visited or longed for. Moments that made me pause. There’s a little mess, a lot of colour, and hopefully something that makes you smile, tilt your head, or maybe even tear up a bit.

It’s chaos—but make it art.
